When I was applying for graduate school to study Vocal Performance, I went to a professional recording studio in Boston to record my audition tapes. I walked into this giant room, met the recording engineer, and saw microphones on giant mic stands. A beautiful Steinway D was set up perfectly. It was all very nice and welcoming, and the experience felt luxurious in a way. However, when I saw the price tag, I started wondering; is there a better and more affordable way to do this? Is there a way to give students a professional recording experience within the comfort of their own school?
I certainly value the experience at the professional recording studio and know that the results were worth it (I got into Eastman!), but I knew that I could help students pursue their dreams in a more affordable, stress-free way.
Two years later, while a graduate student at Eastman, I was happy to help my friends by recording their audition tapes. I learned how to perfect audition recording and was happy to hear that everyone I recorded received auditions for at least one (if not all) of the schools or companies they applied to.
Now, more than ever, high quality virtual audition packages are essential. After talking about our skills and experience, Ali Rose and I found that we could offer more than just the audio & video recordings, but also headshots and resumé edits. Students have enough to worry about, and adding in the stress of editing audio & video footage together along with headshots and resumés can be too much! We want to take out the stress, and help you create the best portfolio, showcasing everything you’ve got. So, book a Rechord session and make your dreams come true!

Andrew HammondBorn & raised in Southern California, baritone Andrew Hammond has had an unconventional journey into music and Vocal Performance. He has been writing and recording his own music since he was 14, and was even the drummer for his brother's reggae band at only 11 years old! When it came time to go to college, he moved across the country and majored in Physics at Boston College, with a minor in Music. During his sophomore year, he began recording his friends' bands and live musicians of all genres--rock, pop, and folk. He interned at Mix One Studios in Boston for a summer, where he recorded students from the Berklee School of Music. The experiences he had in music while in Boston inspired him to pursue a graduate program in voice, and he received his Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music.
Andrew's understanding of acoustics and sound from his Physics degree bring a competitive skillset into the recording industry. This, coupled with his intense study of classical music make the perfect combination to create audition recordings. |
Ali Rose HotzOriginally from Toledo, OH, soprano Ali Rose Hotz has spent the past six years (and counting!) studying Vocal Performance. She received her Bachelors of Music at Miami University in Oxford, OH (with a minor in Musical Theatre) and her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music. She just couldn't get enough of Eastman, and is now a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts!
Throughout her musical studies, she's found a passion for helping others to create a holistic portfolio that shows their best self. She's hosted and presented resumé and repertoire list editing workshops, and has long been the "proof-reader friend" when colleagues are writing papers, resumés, repertoire lists, and cover letters. She's also developed an eye for fashion and aesthetics, and has helped to lead editorial photoshoots for various brands, giving her invaluable posing & style skills for headshots! |
